It seems that even members of the Democratic Party are becoming weary of the constant stream of propaganda from their own commentators.
A recent program hosted by former Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC failed to perform well, according to Fox News.
Rachel Maddow, the network’s most prominent host, has reverted to broadcasting her show solely on Monday evenings, thereby leaving the desirable 9 PM Eastern time slot open from Tuesday to Friday.
Psaki was appointed to the position and achieved remarkable success on her debut night, attracting 1.2 million viewers, including 139,000 in the highly sought-after 25-54 age demographic favored by advertisers.
However, her second night proved to be a significant setback, as her ratings plummeted to just over one million viewers, with only 65,000 in the key demographic. In contrast, Maddow had garnered 1.9 million viewers last week, with 141,000 in the crucial demographic.
Consequently, Psaki experienced a decline of 46 percent in total viewership and 54 percent in the key demographic compared to Maddow’s performance.
All programs on Fox News surpassed Psaki in viewership, as did 13 programs on CNN, with the former Biden spokesperson positioned in a prime 9 PM EDT slot for nightly cable news.
Her program was even outperformed in total viewership by basic cable reruns of shows such as ‘Friends,’ ‘Seinfeld,’ ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ ‘Bob’s Burgers,’ ‘The King of Queens,’ ‘That 70s Show,’ ‘Paw Patrol,’ ‘Reba,’ and ‘My Strange Addiction,’ according to Fox News.
This marked the lowest-rated 9 PM show for MSNBC within the key demographic on a Wednesday since Alex Wagner recorded merely 40,000 in the demo on December 11, 2024. I
n March, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace encountered criticism after expressing a wish for 13-year-old DJ Daniel – who was made an honorary Secret Service agent by President Donald Trump during his joint congressional address – to have a ‘long life’ as a police officer, while also stating her hope that he would never have to face a January 6-style insurrection.
The renewed controversy has brought attention back to her ratings, which have consistently been at an all-time low since President Donald Trump’s election victory last November, according to a report.
Wallace, the host of Deadline airing weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. EST, faced significant backlash from Trump and his supporters, who interpreted his remarks as a subtle compliment that also contained an indirect criticism of the president. During his speech, Trump recognized Daniel, a guest at the congressional address who has been fighting brain cancer for seven years, by honoring him as an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent.
I wish for his longevity in the role of a law enforcement officer. However, I hope he is never required to protect the U.S. Capitol from supporters of Donald Trump. Should that situation arise, I sincerely hope he is not among the six individuals who tragically take their own lives. Furthermore, I hope he is not compelled to provide testimony against those who engaged in seditious conspiracy and subsequently witnessed Donald Trump grant them clemency,
Wallace’s program, Deadline: White House, attracted an average of 1.6 million viewers from early 2024 until Election Day, but saw a significant 35% drop in viewership after President Trump’s win. In November and December, the show averaged about one million viewers daily, as a considerable portion of its liberal audience lost interest—a trend that has affected MSNBC’s entire schedule.
According to Fox News, significant portions of the Deadline: White House audience may not return. The viewership among individuals aged 25-54 has decreased to 93,000 from 144,000 prior to Election Day, indicating to advertisers that she is no longer a major attraction for consumers.
Regrettably, Wallace lags behind non-news programs in the crucial demographic, such as ‘Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives’ on the Food Network and BET’s ‘Tyler Perry’s Sistas.’
