Trump shared this announcement on his Truth Social account, stating: “This is excellent news for Law Enforcement and American Justice! Dan Bongino, a man with immense love and dedication to our Country, has just been appointed as the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI by the future best Director, Kash Patel. Dan holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from C.U.N.Y. and an MBA from Penn State. He served as a member of the New York Police Department (New York’s Finest!), was a highly esteemed Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, and is currently one of the most successful Podcasters in the nation, a career he is ready to set aside to serve. Together with our outstanding new United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and Director Patel, we will swiftly restore Fairness, Justice, Law, and Order to America. Congratulations, Dan!”
Later, Trump added: “Another important aspect of Dan Bongino’s life is his wonderful wife, Paula, and their two lovely daughters who truly cherish their father. Dan will do an incredible job!!!”
In response on X, Bongino simply expressed his gratitude, writing, “Thank you Mr. President, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Patel.”
Last week, Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) took the unusual step of visiting the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., to criticize the president’s selection of Patel as the new director, just hours before the full Senate confirmed him. Accompanied by several fellow party members, the California Democrat disparaged Patel in comments to the media, prompting critics to note that his overtly political actions were only bringing further shame upon himself.
“This is someone we cannot trust,” Schiff stated. “This is someone who lacks the character and integrity necessary for this position.”
In the aftermath of his comments, several individuals, including Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, took to social media to express that Schiff’s behavior indicates his awareness that Patel, who exposed the ‘Trump-Russia collusion’ narrative as a fabrication, understands the California Democrat’s involvement in promoting that falsehood, which even became a basis for two impeachment proceedings during Trump’s initial term.
Additionally, it was pointed out that Schiff has received a pre-emptive pardon from former President Joe Biden, purportedly to shield him from possible criminal liabilities.
Following Patel’s confirmation, he shared a message on his X account expressing gratitude to the president and affirming his readiness to commence his duties. “I am honored to be confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Thank you to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for your unwavering confidence and support,” Patel stated.
He further remarked, “The FBI has a rich history—from the ‘G-Men’ to protecting our nation post-9/11. The American public deserves an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and dedicated to justice.”
Patel emphasized, “The politicization of our justice system has diminished public trust—but that changes today. My objective as Director is straightforward: allow good officers to perform their duties and restore trust in the FBI. Together with the committed men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI that the American people can take pride in.”
He concluded with a stern warning to those who threaten Americans: “Consider this your notice. We will pursue you to every corner of the globe. Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work.”
