Carrie Underwood’s new role as a judge on American Idol season 23 has stirred up some criticism, but one person who isn’t questioning her abilities is fellow Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

Despite long-standing rumors of a rivalry between the two music stars, Kelly is making it clear she has no problem with Carrie joining the judges’ table.

An insider told Life & Style that Kelly isn’t concerned about Carrie stepping into Katy Perry’s former role.

The insider added that the talk show host has even extended an invite to Carrie, saying she’s welcome on The Kelly Clarkson Show anytime.

While some have questioned whether Carrie can live up to expectations as a judge, Kelly, who previously coached on The Voice, isn’t doubting her

Though the two haven’t been particularly close over the years, they’ve followed similar career paths and understand each other’s journeys.

Despite the controversy involving Carrie, which kicked off with her performing at Trump’s second inauguration, she has earned support from the original Idol champion herself.

Carrie recently joined her fellow Idol judges on Good Morning America, where fans of the show vowed to skip the episode due to her appearance.

In the comments of GMA’s announcement post for the judge’s appearance on the show, one person shared: “Won’t be watching. Carrie Underwood doesn’t care about truth-telling since she performed for the lying president. No more @carrieunderwood for me.”
