Travis Kelce knows a thing or two about stamina, but when it comes to pure endurance, he says his girlfriend Taylor Swift might just outdo him.
In a new GQ interview published Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end compared the demands of the NFL to the intensity of Swift’s Eras Tour performances. And in his eyes, the pop megastar is playing the tougher game.
“More exhausting than anything I do on a Sunday”
Kelce, 35, spoke with pride about the effort Swift pours into each show, revealing he’s seen the elaborate set from behind the scenes.
“To go out on a stage, in front of a computer, basically, for three hours… the [Eras Tour] floor is literally, I’ve seen underneath that thing, it is a football-field-sized computer,” he explained.
He described the grueling conditions, recalling Swift’s Singapore shows: “You take that into Singapore, where it is blisteringly hot, and all of a sudden you’re feeling the steam from the computer and the steam from the sun and you’re doing a show for three hours with a lot of energy, bringing it every single song.”
Then came the bold comparison: “That is arguably more exhausting than anything I do on a Sunday, and she’s doing it three, four, five days in a row.”
A busy fall ahead for the power couple
Kelce’s praise comes just as Swift kicks off a whole new chapter. On the latest episode of New Heights, the podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Swift announced her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The reveal has already set the internet buzzing and it means the couple will both be juggling major commitments this fall. For Kelce, that’s another Super Bowl push; for Swift, it’s the rollout of a brand-new era.
Balancing ambition, love, and legacy
While Kelce is determined to bounce back from what he admits was a dip in on-field production, which he partly attributes to pursuing acting opportunities, including a role in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie, he’s equally invested in celebrating Swift’s artistry.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has made it clear his only goal in 2025 is another title, but his admiration for Swift’s work ethic suggests he’s just as inspired by her grind as she is by his.
And with The Life of a Showgirl on the way, it’s shaping up to be a season where both halves of this headline-making couple will be putting in championship-level performances — one under stadium lights, the other under stage lights.
