‘Duck Dynasty’ Patriarch Phil Robertson Dies At 79 After Battle With Alzheimer’s

Phil Robertson, the cherished patriarch of “Duck Dynasty” and the founder of Duck Commander, passed away at the age of 78 on May 25, 2025. His family announced the news via social media, expressing their belief that he is now with the Lord. They reminisced about how Phil frequently reminded them of the Bible’s teachings on resurrection and eternal life.

Phil’s son, Jase Robertson, conveyed the news of his passing on X, reflecting the family’s hope for a reunion and their sorrow softened by faith. Granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff shared a heartfelt memory of his encouragement: “One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!” She characterized his spiritual influence as transformative, stating that he is now “fully alive in Christ.”

Grandson Will Robertson shared a childhood photograph, paying tribute to Phil’s profound testimony and commitment to God, expressing appreciation for his legacy and envisioning him “sitting in his recliner talking to Jesus.”

Prior to his passing, Phil encountered significant health issues. Jase disclosed on their “Unashamed” podcast that Phil was diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s and a blood disorder. The family organized professional assistance to aid him during his deterioration. Concurrently, Phil’s spouse, Kay Robertson, experienced a serious infection following a fall but subsequently showed signs of recovery.

In spite of these challenges, the family proclaimed the revival of “Duck Dynasty” with a new 20-episode series scheduled to be broadcast, produced by Spoke Studios and Tread Lively Productions. Willie and Korie Robertson, who serve as executive producers, conveyed their enthusiasm about presenting new family experiences on screen.
