Renowned country artist Ivana Pino Arellano, affectionately referred to as “La Rancherita de Chanco,” tragically passed away in a car accident on the M-80 road close to Pelluhe, Chile, just one day following her 32nd birthday. The vehicle, which overturned due to slippery conditions, resulted in Arellano’s death at the scene, while her passenger sustained severe injuries.
Images of the accident depict the severely damaged car resting on its side against a wall, concealed by an orange tarp. Arellano, an emerging talent and mother of four, was recognized for her ability to fuse traditional Latin American music with contemporary styles.
The Municipality of Chanco has confirmed her passing, remarking, “Ivana embodied the essence of public service with fervor and affection.” They further stated, “Your absence creates an unfillable void, yet your legacy will persist through the ages.”
Her funeral was held on June 17 at the Curanipe Parish Cemetery, with attendance from family, friends, and admirers. The Municipality of Chanco conveyed their appreciation, stating, “Thank you, Ivana, for providing us with days filled with light and tranquility.”
