Attorney General Pam Bondi disclosed that the FBI is currently reviewing a substantial number of videos featuring Jeffrey Epstein with minors or child pornography, indicating that there are numerous victims, as she addressed the concerns regarding the delay in the release of case files.
The FBI is thoroughly examining the matter, Bondi informed reporters on Wednesday morning, noting that the extensive amount of evidence is the reason additional files have not yet been released.
Epstein, a convicted financier of pedophilia, took his own life in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking. His wealth and philanthropic efforts made him a significant figure in the realms of politics, academia, and finance.
Nevertheless, the complete extent of his criminal activities remains unclear, including the possibility of accomplices beyond his imprisoned associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, while the new Trump administration has pledged to ensure full transparency regarding the Epstein documents.
Representative James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky and the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has voiced his apprehension regarding the potential destruction of significant Epstein records before the inauguration of the Trump administration.
“The president ordered their release, the attorney general ordered their release, and it is widely acknowledged that they have not been made public,” Comer stated during an appearance on The Benny Show.
As a participant in the House Oversight Task Force focused on the declassification of government secrets related to the Epstein files, Comer collaborates with the task force, which is led by Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL).
The dissemination of this information has progressed more slowly than expected, drawing criticism from fellow Republicans and conservative commentators who have raised concerns about the delays.
Following the realization that much of the information in the Epstein files was already public knowledge, the initial release of certain documents, referred to as “Phase I,” in early March has faced backlash.
In April, Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims, tragically took her own life after enduring years of mental health struggles. This incident marked yet another sorrowful chapter in the Epstein saga. The 41-year-old woman was the mother of three children. Her family remarked in a statement, ‘Virginia was a courageous advocate in the battle against sexual abuse and sex trafficking.
She illuminated the path for countless survivors. Despite the numerous challenges she encountered throughout her life, her brilliance was undeniable. Her absence will be profoundly felt.’ Representative Comer expressed his concerns on The Benny Show, stating, ‘I have always questioned the implications of the Epstein files: Was there government involvement? Did the government possess knowledge? Was Epstein being utilized by the government to blackmail prominent figures globally?’
In March, Bondi disclosed during an interview on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo that FBI agents were diligently working to safeguard the personal and private information of the convicted pedophile’s numerous victims, which are documented across thousands of pages.
Bondi stated, ‘There are tens of thousands of pages of documents and hundreds of victims of Jeffrey Epstein. The FBI has been working tirelessly at my direction, under the guidance of [FBI Director] Kash Patel, and now with [FBI Deputy Director] Dan Bongino, who is a valuable asset to our efforts at the FBI.’ She further emphasized, ‘It is imperative that we protect their identities and personal information to ensure their safety.
However, we are committed to releasing all relevant documents as soon as they are appropriately redacted to safeguard the victims.’ Epstein tragically took his own life in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges of child sex trafficking.
The affluent and influential financier, who possessed a private island estate in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has been the focus of ongoing speculation regarding a purported ‘client list’ of prominent individuals.
Certain individuals have alleged that the authorities are hiding such a list; however, numerous sources knowledgeable about both the civil and criminal proceedings involving Epstein assert that no such list has ever been discovered.
