Heidi Klum (pronounced [ˈhaɪdiː ˈklʊm]; born June 1, 1973) is a German-American model, television presenter, producer, and entrepreneur. She graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1998 and was the inaugural German model to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel. After a prosperous modeling career, Klum transitioned to become the host and judge of Germany’s Next Topmodel as well as the reality series Project Runway, for which she received an Emmy nomination in 2008 and won in 2013 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, sharing the honor with co-host Tim Gunn. Klum has received a total of six Emmy Award nominations.
She has served as a spokesmodel for Dannon and H&M, featuring in various commercials for brands such as McDonald’s and Volkswagen. In 2009, Klum was appointed as Barbie’s official ambassador in celebration of Barbie’s 50th anniversary. As a part-time actress, she has taken on supporting roles in films like Blow Dry (2001) and Ella Enchanted (2004), and has made cameo appearances in The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Perfect Stranger (2007), and Ocean’s 8 (2018). Additionally, she has guest-starred in television series such as Sex and the City, How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, and Parks and Recreation. Since 2013, with the exception of 2019, Klum has served as a judge on the NBC reality competition America’s Got Talent.
