America’s most beloved family have been involved in a fatal plane crash on route to a concert

A devastating aviation accident claimed the lives of seven individuals from the Nelon family, who were cherished figures in the gospel music community. Among the deceased were Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber, son-in-law Nathan Kistler, family associate Melanie Hodges, as well as pilot Larry Haynie and his spouse Melissa. The sole survivor, Autumn Nelon Streetman, issued a poignant statement conveying her sorrow and appreciation for the outpouring of prayers and support.

The Nelons were en route to Alaska for the Gaither Homecoming Cruise when their aircraft tragically crashed in Wyoming. Eyewitnesses described observing the plane descend in flames before impact. Despite the prompt response from emergency services, there were no survivors.

In 2016, The Nelons were honored with induction into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame. Renowned for their significant contributions to gospel music, they are celebrated for songs such as ‘I Shall Not Be Moved,’ ‘Come Morning,’ and ‘We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.’

Autumn conveyed her sorrow and appreciation for the prayers and assistance received. The National Transportation Safety Board is set to conduct an investigation into the accident.

This event has profoundly affected the gospel music community, which honors the Nelons for their lasting contributions to the genre.
