There are concerning indications that the President of the United States is contemplating a bid for the presidency in 2028.
However, this is prohibited by the US constitution, which clearly states that no individual may seek a third term in the White House.
Yet, it is well-known that Trump rarely adheres to established norms. The prospect of him attempting to circumvent the revered constitution to secure a third term would be astonishing, even by his standards.
Nevertheless, the 78-year-old has begun to drop hints that he may pursue this very goal. For those unfamiliar, the 22nd Amendment to the American constitution restricts any individual from serving more than two terms in office, capping their tenure at eight years, irrespective of the quality of their administration.
