A former contestant from X Factor has sadly passed away at the age of 34. Following the distressing announcement, fans have expressed their condolences on social media. One follower remarked, ‘I am deeply saddened by this news.
May he find eternal peace.’ Another added, ‘Rest in peace, taken from us too early.’ A third individual commented, ‘I am truly sorry to learn of your departure. Sending heartfelt love to your family. Rest in peace.
‘Danny Dearden, who participated in the ITV talent show in 2014, advanced to the Judges’ Houses phase of the competition, receiving mentorship from Mel B, a member of the Spice Girls, in Cancún, Mexico.
He subsequently enjoyed a successful music career, accumulating over 15 million streams on Spotify and signing with Sentric Music in 2021. His most prominent track was as a featured artist on Michael Calfan’s ‘Could Be You,’ which aired on BBC Radio 1 Party Anthems with Scott Mills. Other singles by the artist include ‘Come Down’ and ‘Different Kind of Love.’ Denise Beighton, Dearden’s manager, confirmed the heartbreaking news of his death in an Instagram post on April 15, stating: “Heartbroken to wake up to the news that you’re gone.
I have no words right now, rest easy, beautiful boy.” Mel B also expressed her sorrow with a heartfelt tribute, saying: “Tragic news hearing Danny Dearden has passed. I remember him from his X Factor days and how talented you always were, but also how kind to everyone. Sending love to anyone who knew Danny.”
Prior to his passing, Dearden had mentioned his struggles with health issues in recent years. In December 2023, he disclosed that the NHS had saved his life during a period of ill health, although he did not specify the nature of his illness. He shared an Instagram post at that time, stating: “This year has been a bit of a rocky one, at one point I was told I probably wouldn’t be here today… Well, I am.” In October 2024, he posted a selfie with a peace sign, captioning it: “Another day another… well I’d say dive but it takes me 5 minutes to get down the steps into the pool these days haha.” His last social media update featured him in a hospital setting, where he took a photo of a hot chocolate.
The circumstances surrounding Dearden’s death have not yet been disclosed. Nonetheless, a recent announcement has confirmed that it followed a prolonged health struggle. “It is with great sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our beloved friend and artist Danny Dearden, who departed peacefully this morning after enduring a lengthy illness,” stated a representative for the musician, as reported by the Mirror.
They further remarked, “Danny was among the most gifted and dedicated individuals we have had the pleasure of working with, leaving a significant impact on the industry with over 30 million streams and collaborations with prominent dance artists such as Michael Calfan and Dario G. Rest in peace, Danny.”
