6-Year-Old Gracelyn Vick Found Deceased After Playing in Her Front Yard – Details
The Vick family is in mourning after the tragic loss of their daughter, Gracelyn Vick, who was discovered dead just hours after being reported missing.
On April 13, 2025, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office provided a heartbreaking update following extensive search-and-rescue operations for six-year-old Gracelyn, affectionately known as Gracie.
Deputies responded to a report of a missing child in the vicinity of F Taylor Road and Saucier Farley Road. According to her family, Gracelyn had gone outside to play in their front yard around noon and vanished shortly thereafter.
She was last seen wearing a white shirt and pink shorts, without any shoes. The sheriff’s office initiated a search utilizing ATVs, a helicopter, and ground teams with the assistance of volunteers.
Acadian Medical, Harrison County Fire, and Gulf Coast Rescue also participated in the search efforts. Tragically, at approximately 6 p.m., Gracelyn’s body was found near her family’s property.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of foul play. The cause of Gracelyn’s death remains undetermined; however, an autopsy was conducted on April 14, 2025, at the state lab in Biloxi.
The Harrison County Coroner’s office is collaborating with the sheriff’s department to analyze the autopsy results, which will guide the ongoing investigation.
In addition to the official search efforts, Gracelyn’s aunt, Jacie Folk, has been actively raising awareness about her niece’s case.
“MY NIECE IS MISSING PLEASE HELP FIND HER LAST SEEN AT 16040 F Taylor Rd. Saucier MS about 2 hours ago. Gracelyn Vick, 6 years old. Last seen wearing pink shorts and a white top with flowers,” she posted on Facebook just hours before Gracelyn was found.
“Anyone with wildlife cameras, ring cameras, or security cameras on Saucier Fairley Road, F Taylor Road, or Blackwell Farm Road, please save your footage. We may need it for my niece. Any video from today!!!!” she added.
In the wake of this heartbreaking event, the community is left in shock.Gracelynn Heritage Farms is operated by Gracelyn’s mother. “We kindly ask for your continued prayers. The journey ahead is challenging,” Jacie stated.
Regrettably, this would not be the final occasion for Jacie to speak publicly regarding Gracelyn’s situation. “Individuals are taking to various social media platforms to express unkind remarks about my family. Numerous accusations and assumptions have been made,” she began.
She went on to share that her family is experiencing profound trauma and is striving to maintain their composure as they face “yet another distressing situation.” “We are aware of the numerous unfounded narratives circulating, and some of us have even jumped to conclusions in moments of distress. The human mind seeks to find some form of understanding, which is nearly impossible in the midst of trauma,” she remarked, adding that “investigators are diligently working to uncover all potential answers.”
