He said he was looking for Kai.”
A 23-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly attempting to break into Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. He had a shocking motive: to find and marry the former president’s teenage granddaughter, Kai Trump.
According to law enforcement, Anthony Thomas Reyes was caught trying to scale a wall around midnight at the Palm Beach property. He told officers he wanted to “spread the gospel” to Donald Trump. He also said he admired 18-year-old Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr.
While former President Trump was reportedly in Washington at the time, the incident raised serious alarms.

A White House spokesperson confirmed Trump had been briefed. Though it remains unclear if Kai or any family members were present at the resort.
Not His First Attempt
Authorities say this wasn’t Reyes’ first attempt at accessing the exclusive estate. He previously tried to break in on New Year’s Eve, when the Trump family was believed to be inside. That attempt failed — but this week, he returned.
Initially charged with trespassing and held on a $1,000 bond, Reyes’ bail was later raised to $50,000. The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office noted that federal charges may follow, given his history and the sensitive nature of the location.
Who Is Kai Trump?
With over 1.7 million Instagram followers and more than 3 million fans on TikTok, Kai Trump is far from an ordinary teen.
She’s known for her polished lifestyle vlogs and behind-the-scenes political peeks. Despite her busy schedule, she’s carved out her own spotlight — all while balancing high school and a love for golf.
The soon-to-be University of Miami student often shares content from family outings, political events, and golf trips with her grandfather. In one viral clip, Kai was seen walking confidently alongside Trump and UFC boss Dana White at UFC 314 in Miami’s Kaseya Center.
She’s also shown fans her golf simulator sessions at the White House, blending presidential access with Gen Z charm. The dynamic between Kai and Trump has drawn attention online, with fans admiring their tight-knit bond.
“Unnerving” But Not Unheard Of
While shocking, this isn’t the first high-profile security breach involving the Trump family. Back in 2017, another man managed to breach White House security by jumping a fence. It’s a reminder of the persistent challenges in protecting public figures and their families.
For now, authorities are urging the public not to approach Reyes if spotted, citing concerns about his mental state and prior behavior.
As for Kai, she has yet to comment publicly — but fans are flooding her latest posts with support and concern.
